Oye amigos,
Hope you are all well and appreciating this long-awaited spring thaw as much as I am. Just drawing your attention to three upcoming events. They are on our calendar as Notes (not official Meetups), which means Meetup organizers and other members may -- or may not -- be present. (As always, members are encouraged to use the Meetup Message Board to coordinate outings with other interested members.)

We?ve redesigned our Meetup page, but you can still find our complete calendar under the ?Meetups? tab (third from left along top of home page), or here: http://spanish.meetup.com/150/calendar/

-A concert of Latin American music is scheduled for TOMORROW, Saturday March 13 at Pitt, in conjunction with long-time local charity Brother's Brother. Suggested donation is $10 to benefit those recovering from the devastating 2/27 earthquake in Chile.

-Spanish-language films are featured as part of the Pittsburgh Jewish Israeli Film Festival, which continues through March 21. I?m attending this Sunday?s 8pm showing of Nora's Will, a new film from Mexico, and would love to charlar / tomar una copa afterward with any of yinz who might also attend.

-Finally, mark you calendar for Saturday, March 27. It?s the 30th annual Latin American and Caribbean Festival at the Wm Pitt Union in Oakland. Running from noon through midnight, there will be activities for kids, art, folkloric dance and music, featuring such great local performers as Timbeleza, Lily Abreu and B?same. This might morph into a an official Meetup event, I?ll send out a note as we get closer to the date and try to round up a group to go together.

Hasta pronto!
