Scrapbooking Tuesday, Journaling - Whys and Hows.

We are going to start to set up a scrapbooking MEETUP, every 2nd Tuesday of the month.

It's a time to get together, to do some scrapbooking, to share stuff, maybe have a theme project, whatever!  It's a _GROUP_ event, where members of the group can get to know each other, and maybe form their own workgroups on their own nights.  You don't even have to have a scrapbook project, or want to scrapbook.  Just come an TALK WITH other scrapbookers!

I will try to edit each month's recurrent message, with a theme, idea, or some goal.  You don't need to want to do that to show up, just bring your own items and do your own thing, while sharing the company of others.

This Month's Theme:

JOURNALING:  What it is, what it isn't, and why it's so important.

We aren't going to show you all sorts of things you can't use, or which look good in one situation.  What we are going to do is go over what is and isn't important, how to fit it in, ideas to add notes, and maybe some new techniques for working with photos/text that don't involve scissors and glue. Bring some of your samples, things you have questions about, things you are proud of, and lets discuss!

There is a $5 table fee to cover incidentals, and your first cup of coffee.   Group members will get the table fee waived, so see, the membership paid for itself already :)

I know everyone *thinks* they have everything they need, but you always need to use that paper cutter, or the die machine, or a pen, or a sheet of paper, etc, etc.  Isn't it great to know that by being a member you can share/use that stuff without feeling guilty??

I would like to make there be some other perks for members, but since we do not deal with any scrapbook suppliers directly, and I buy most stuff off ebay or Craig's List, or discount sales at the chain stores, I really can't do much at this time.  But, if participation grows, who knows.  I'd like to offer a VIP membership, with a goodie bag each month for preserving memories from that month or before.   For instance, in January, have a "Christmas/New Years" goodie bag for all those photos you took over the holidays.  And March maybe a "Valentines" goodie bag so you can scrapbook that first love.  Etc.

I hate how by the time you want to scrapbook, they are 6 holidays ahead already!

If you have a suggestion for another day of the week, or anything else, use the comments area, or preferably, post something in the FORUM!  That way everyone gets to see it, and it doesn't "expire" like comments on events do.
