We'll drive to the site (5 miles), for a 2 mile walk and talk about useful plants and ecology, with a little tasting. I'll introduce the Li'l Rabbit project, and we'll discuss the potential to tend and restore sites, so that we can earn / gain regular access for foraging. And we'll consider steps we might need to take to ensure access and a future for the plants and habitats that sustain our hobby.
This sounds like a great walk - any chance it could be rescheduled or posted again for another date later in the Spring?
I'll be scheduling many similar walks this spring. Hope to see more of you soon.
We tasted some field mushrooms and wild mustard leaves, made a little milkweed string, and saw/talked about lots of other useful species (food, fiber, dye, basketry species, etc). Very nice weather.
