10-12 mile Hike Greene Valley!

THIS HIKE WILL REMAIN AT 9AM.  We will cut the hike shorter if needed in consideration for rain.

Who is up for a 10-12 mile hike in November?

Trails

Over three-quarters of Greene Valley’s 12 miles of marked trails are open to hikers, bicyclers, horseback riders and cross-country skiers.

Horseback riders should park their trailers on the west side of Greene Road south of 79th Street and should not ride in or around developed recreational areas, such as picnic areas, the Thunderbird Youth Camp and the scenic overlook.

When conditions permit, rangers groom trails for cross-country skiing. Classical cross-country skiers should use the outside of the trail, leaving the inside area for freestyle skiers and other trail users.

I will be adding hike details as the time gets closer.

Thanks for hosting. This was an aread I have never hiked before. A little drizzle didn't stop us. 7-8 miles was perfect for Rugby.

There is no rain in the forecast for the morning! We are on! This will be at near 50 degrees, a nice mild (maybe a little windy) hike! See you at 9am!

Hello Everyone! Are any of you willing to meet at 8:00 or 8:30 instead of 9:00 tomorrow? We might get a little more hiking in before the rain starts that way. I am going to make a determination within the next 2 hours. If you do not see a time change notification, then it will stay at 9am.

ALSO...the forecast is calling for light rain the later part of the morning. I am hoping we will be able to get a decent amount of hiking in before we endure any rain. MANISHA...says no rain until 11am! Let's see, that could change to 1pm too! I feel confident that we will have a good amount of hiking in without rain!

I saw the forecast :-) I have been under the weather too and may be slightly slower too. I am available to start at 8:00 AM or 8:30 AM if you want to start earlier in hopes of avoiding the rain.

Ok hikers! I have been under the weather all week, but have been getting better with each day. I will be there tomorrow and will do my best to keep up my normal pace, but if I am slightly slower...you will know why. Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing all of you! Let's have some fun!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
