Definitely. However... it appears I am woefully short of my quota. This situation surely deserves remedy. Now, thankfully, some 1st Class Devotees are working the 'mercy-circuit' up in Bellingham, which *should* allow for an eventual surpassing of that quota. (I urge others to check and see if they too need more Kirtan... It's quite common these days for folks to be 'short', and here's a great opportunity to "top off" your 'mercy tank'! (You don't want to run out on a lonely stretch of road!)
Yes! I first had Bhagavad-Gita placed in my hands just before Christmas of 1975, but at 16, I couldn't yet appreciate it. As I gave it back, I told him that its value 'surely exceeded the pocket change I had with me... the devotee smiled a big smile and handed me two candy canes... (KRSNA-PRASADAM KI JAI!!) Naturally, once I had honored prasadam, (even though un-knowingly!) ...it was just a matter of time until I came to my senses. As "luck" would have it, while in Seattle during March of 1982, I again 'happened upon' a party from Lord Chaitanya's Harinam Sankirtan Army, and was given a card* with instructions & a map to the Harrison St Temple. [*After dancing with the devotees for over an hour straight :o) ] And it only got better: By great 'luck' once again, I happened to go to the Temple, (for the first time,) on the same Sunday that the devotees were celebrating GAURA PURNIMA!! (At first I thought they had a festival like that EVERY Sunday, LOL!) Jaya Prabhupada!
I aspire to fully follow the path of the Gaudiya Vaisnavas. Ideally, we would tell everyone we meet about the life and soul of Vrndaban, Sri Krsna! And, we would repeat without alteration, the instruction given us by Srila Prabhupada... thus giving away, to all who want them, the beautiful 'diamonds' of the Holy Names, (and all without cost to the 'calling party'!)
I've been 'camped out' here in the gorgeous Skagit Valley for some time now, (long enough to raise 3 kids!) ...and I was glad to hear of the 'new' Bellingham meetings! Hope to be there again soon! Radhe Shyam!
