sorry I couldn't make it to the meeting, but I love this author - have read all of her other books - please keep me posted on when the next meeting is (school makes my time very limited, but I really would like to try and participate)

    What's the book choice?:)

    February 23, 2014

    • Nikki T.

Yep! Should be a good read. The most common reviews for the book is that it starts a little slow, but gets extremely addictive after the first 2 chapters. I'm excited!

So fun! Had a blast with everybody!

So excited to meet everyone! Just finished a WONDERFUL book...not adding it to the list, obviously...but for all the mystery lovers out there... The Widow's Season by Laura Brodie is FANTASTIC. Been reading all day.
    Till tomorrow...

  • Nikki T.

    Hi Everyone!

Tomorrow is the day! I am SO excited to meet all of you. Please check out the book suggestions that were listed here, because tomorrow I am randomly going to pick 3 and then we will vote for the winner :)

    February 22, 2014

  • becca E.

You all pick! I like pretty much everything! :)

    1 · February 20, 2014

  • Rebecca Gayle N.

All of these suggestions are too good. You all are making my reading list grow even more impossible that it already way. Thanks for the Kate Morton suggestion, Nikki. I'd never read her, but looking at her publications I think she will be on my list to watch.

    February 20, 2014

  • Nikki T.

***Hello everyone! This group has grown way larger than I expected! So, to make it easier to choose our first book, let's take a vote! First vote will be for the Genre. Please see below! :]

    1. Mystery/Thriller/Crime
    2. Fantasy
    3.Comedy
    4.Horror
    5. Romance
    6.Sci-Fi
    7. Drama
    8. Inspirational
    9. Other (if other, please provide genre title)

Just post your vote on the comment stream, and I will tally them up. If you have any questions, let me know. I know there are a ton of genres, these are just the basics, if none of those apply, choose "Other" and explain! :)

    February 12, 2014

      Mystery/thriller

      February 17, 2014

    • Rebecca Gayle N.

Oh I LOVE Historical Fiction. (I know it's too late for this time, but I wanted to throw that out there anyway.)

      February 20, 2014

  • Rebecca Gayle N.

I have two thoughts for the first book.

    1. Snow White Must Die. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/snow-white-must-die-nele-neuhaus/1111298341
    2. Frozen. http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/frozen-kate-watterson/1110921095?ean=9780765369604

I can't say I've read much in these genres, but I'm looking forward to the experience. I also can't wait to meet everyone!

I also have to say though; Stephen King gives me the creep, and not in a good way. If the majority want a King book, I'll do my best to read it, but I can't promise anything.

    1 · February 19, 2014

    • Nikki T.

The only Stephen King I actually own is The Shining. Morgan actually knocked it behind the dresser and my short arms cannot reach... So, you're good! :P

      February 19, 2014

    • Rebecca Gayle N.

      Remind me to thank Morgan.

    Hello Readers!

I am closing the suggestion box Friday night. So, if you want to recommend a book, please do so. =]

Again, no need to post. Feel free to mention you like someone else's suggestion. I am getting excited for Sunday. I hope all of you are too!

    February 19, 2014

  • Nikki T.

    Hey everyone!

    MYSTERY/THRILLER/CRIME is the winner!!!

Now, for the next part. Since we are a very large group (39 members!) we still need to narrow this down before the meetup. For those who have a book suggestion (must be a mystery/thriller/crime) please post on the comment stream with a short description. It is okay if yours is the same as another persons. It is also okay if you do not have a suggestion :)

The final decision will be made at the meetup!

(Anne here: What follows is the review from goodreads.com)

4.02 of 5 stars 4.02 · rating details · 10,597 ratings · 1,284 reviews Justin and Libby Denbe have the kind of life that looks good in the pages of a glossy magazine. A beautiful fifteen-year old daughter, Ashlyn. A gorgeous brownstone on a tree-lined street in Boston’s elite Back Bay neighborhood. .....

When investigator Tessa Leoni arrives at the crime scene in the Denbes’ home,...family appears to have been abducted, with only a pile of their most personal possessions remaining behind. No witnesses, no ransom demands, no motive. Just an entire family, vanished without a trace.

..... a complex tangle of friendships and betrayal, big business and small sacrifices. Who would want to kidnap such a perfect little family? And how far would such a person be willing to go?
