So that we have an overview, of what I sense most human beings are after, I suggest the Wikipedia summary of Eudaimonia.

The important thing is that Epicureanism (or seeking Eudaimonia / happiness / flourishing — or whatever one wants to call it) is way beyond and superior to mere hedonism. Moreover, beyond the satisfaction and fulfillment of idiosyncratic individuals and likeminded folks closest to them, the more complex and thorny ethical issues that arise between multiple competing (and mutually incompatible) conceptions of the "good" and "happy" life become more interesting and difficult when played out on the societal level. Beyond the personal level, we need concepts like consequentialist ethics, Rawlsian liberal pluralism / veil of ignorance, a maturing neuroscience, etc. to help resolve these disputes in progressive directions.
