Many interesting meetups have past me. I managed to read up on and ponder topics such as the double slit experiment and other difficult to grasp topics of modern physics. But what of META physics. Before you discount that as not philosophical and not scientific enough for your taste, consider the origins of philosophy and science. Review the article
The Spiritual Foundations of Western Philosophy

And at the height of the greatest discoveries and developments by the Greek philosophers and scientists, we find that their "religions" and ritual practices were full of things like deities, concerns about lives between lives or after lives, before lives, and oracles. Mysterious stuff. Psychic stuff. Stuff that has lately been swept under the rug here at Plato's Cave.
Now is the time to clean under the rug and find our lost jewels. Our wish granting jewels, wish granting trees, our mind.

Consider that after Christ, Christianity took hold and since then Greek philosophy was preserved by the Moors of Spain and by Christian monastics, and by Renaissance people like Leonardo Da Vinci and Galileo, and Isaac Newton. But the emphasis became on developing weapons to conquer other nations.
But in India things went another route. The emphasis was on developing technologies that one could practice with few tools, that would allow our own minds to explore the final frontier, our own minds. The schools that for centuries preserved and practiced these mental technologies moved to Tibet because the Arab turks invaded India and did not understand Buddhism, but also Hinduism was absorbing values of Buddhism and so the Brahmins took back the previous stronghold of Buddhism in India back in the early centuries of the Christian era. So for centuries Tibet has been preserving what was developed in India known now as Esoteric Buddhism or Tantric Buddhism or Vajrayana Buddhism.

Now we have a highly regarded teacher of Tibetan Buddhism coming to speak to folks in Orlando. Please google Glenn Mullin and see if you might be interested in meeting and hearing teachings from him. He is being scheduled for around April 10 for four or five days. Stay tuned for further information.
Thanks,
