Let's play party bridge again

Don't wait! Don't hesitate!

Sign up now for our next progressive bridge event on Friday, April 19, at our house at 7 p.m. If you just want to observe, email me at [masked].

We will use the Chicago scoring system. Not to worry--it is easy to learn. Basically, it is the same scoring but it involves playing only four hands per round. At the first hand, no one is vulnerable. At the second hand, North and South are vulnerable and East and West are not vulnerable. At the third hand, East and West are vulnerable and N&S are not. On the fourth hand, both pairs are vulnerable. Then we change partners and tables for the next round.

Using this system, we'll get through rounds quickly and won't have to have the 40 minute time limit we've used before. We'll also play more rounds and each will get to play more participants.

I'll do three tables again plus observers. (I thought about trying for four tables but with using a new scoring system, I thought it would be easier to make one change at a time. Maybe next time I'll try for four tables.) So don't wait, sign up now.

Remember, if you want to bring some food to share (not necessary), don't bring cookies. Fruit, cheese, bottles of water--something like that--will be welcome.

We will change partners with each round (4 hands). You can discuss conventions with each partner. Be sure to arrive about 6:50 to get started by 7.

I started playing when I was about 12. My brother was 6. We needed a fourth. Haven't played, except on the computer, in many years. Should be fun to start playing again.

This is the first time I am joining this group. Wonder what is the bidding convention(s) commonly practiced. Hopefully, I will be a bit in tune with my partner.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
