London Playtest weekday meetup

The December weekday meetup for the London Playtest UK group will be on Monday 8th December from 6pm in the Jugged Hare, Victoria.

If you've designed a game, bring it along and give it a play or just enjoy playing other people's prototypes in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.

Please feel free to add details of your game in the comments section below. As the weekday meetup is less structured than the weekend meetup, it might be more useful for very early prototypes and concepts as well as full game tests. As usual the formula will be playtested and tweaks made along the way.

(Please note that as a condition of our use of the Jugged Hare, only food and drink bought at the pub can be consumed on the premises.)

List of Prototypes to be playtested (tbc):

You can follow the group's blog at

Good to meet everyone. Some good games.

    3 Daves and 2 non-Daves attended.

I tried to explain my concept to Dave T and we tried a few variations as David, Dave W and Michael arrived. After an hour, it was far more solidified with actual rules that feature decisions and strategy.

Vistas was a great idea. After some social exclusion, a few changes for the 2nd playthrough turned it into a fascinating game that really merits the label 'hand management'. Already something I'd play again for pleasure.

Continuing the theme of primordial games and unformed clay, we played Michael's game that has mutated seriously since I saw the first version. Promises to be an interesting management game once it's been streamlined and balanced.

Thanks to all who came and I hope Dave and Dave had a good night, as well as David.

As usual, it was both worthwhile for me to get stuff developed, and interesting to see what everyone else was up to. Enjoyable evening all-round.

Bad news. I don't think I am going to be able to make it tonight. I've still got a lot to do at work. We have got some tables set aside for us downstairs, so there should be plenty of space to playtest.
Apologies for the late notice. Cheers, Rob

Looking forward to joining you, though I may be a bit late depending on when I finish work. Won't have a game to playtest on this occasion as haven't yet brought it up to London.

I have a crazy idea for a game. 2 players move on squares, that influence the movement of a gnome, that influences the movement of 2 little gnomes, that influences the movement of the players. Some things happen and then the game ends. Hopefully within around 30-40 minutes.

It's provisionally called SuperMagicalFantasyGem3 but bears no relation to previous SMFG games (apart from components).

Hi there, assuming I remember to turn up I'll bring along my 'Battle' game. 'Battle' is a warrior placement game were players must capture an objective while slaughtering their opponent's warriors! I'll need one or two players.

I shall try and have something other than Wheel of Joy...
