London Playtest meetup

The December Meetup will be on Sunday 16th December from 1pm to 8pm.

If you've designed a game, bring it along and give it a play or just enjoy playing other people's prototypes in a friendly and constructive atmosphere.

If you would like to bring along a new design, contact Rob Harris (Organiser) and we will add your game to the list.

You can follow the group's blog at

We also have a guild page on BGG:

Hi all - I'm hoping to come to this soon, once I have a playable prototype of the game I'm working on to show - I wanted to ask, hen making cards for use in your prototypes, do you guys just print and cut yourselves usually or get them done professionally? If so what printers do linen-style cards like those in Waterdeep?

I design my cards and colour print them on A4 card. then cut them at home. Can also be laminated.

Gutted I can't make it. I'm wondering if we ordered some bits on would anyone be up for a designing session? We could choose from a selection of bits and design a game in a day :O

Sounds like a great idea. Don't forget out 10% discount atk Let me know if you need any help organising this. It could be part of a monthly Playtest meetup or a separate event, we could promote here.

I'd like to test a large tweak for Scattered Fleet (using hexes instead of squares for locations), but am happy to defer to people who didn't get anything to table last time :)

Not sure that Movie Mogul is going to make it for tomorrow :( Instead I've going to be trying out a real-world game called Outrun that I'm planning to run at the Science Museum in January.

Ixnay on Caterwaul, unfortunately, been too busy to get it together. Next time!
But I am still bringing Fishy Business, revised quite a bit from last time.

Looking forward to giving Fishy Business a try. Katarina really liked it last time.

I've aimed to polish away a few more of the potential frustration factors that were still present in that version. We shall see…

I'll be bringing a strategy game, working title Jam - actually a variant of the tube map game I brought last time, but with taxis driving around a fictional city instead.
