My mother bought a 100-in-1 board game kit with an acrylic-cover table where you could snap boards underneath. It came with 50 double-sided boards and a bunch of tokens, and that's how I learned how to play everything from Chinese Checkers (one of my favourites at the time! I loved the cascading effects) to Fox and Geese, Mill, and so many others. I remember realising that there was no point in playing Snakes'n'Ladders unless we added choices. I think I was... 6? 8? Something like that.
Mind games? I love assymetric info and partial co-op or team games (e.g., BSG, Resistance).
Meeting fellow designers, bringing prototypes in, and playing others'!
I like making stuff and watching people have fun. Started as a game programmer and I'm now designing and prototyping. Life is good! ...if a little rushed. I love board games with a passion.
