For this event we will be running TWO tables of Alien Frontiers to test the game with 3 players and 2 players. We will need 5 players plus myself to monitor the games.

ALIEN FRONTIERS
As part of competing fleets charged with colonizing and controlling the new world, your job is not going to be an easy one. You'll need to use the resources at hand in the new solar system to build up fuel and ore reserves, and you'll use those reserves to construct colonies and spaceships to help you tame the planet. The alien artifact in orbit around the planet is likely to provide a wealth of alien technologies that allow you to manipulate space/time and the laws of physics...but at what cost? And, as you spread out across the planet, you'll find that controlling certain territory gives you useful advantages, but wherever you turn you'll be faced with ruthless opportunist seeking to out maneuver you. Your fleet needs to succeed here or you'll be looking for a new career in orbital trash collection. Now, get out there and conquer the Alien Frontier!

Alien Frontiers is sort of a blend of Euro & American gaming styles. It has resource management and worker placement, but uses an interesting dice mechanic for assigning your fleet of rocket ships to work in different orbital facilities. It has area control through a colony-building race to control the territories on the alien planet, but it allows players to make aggressive moves against each other as the planet becomes more crowded.

A typical game takes 60 to 90 minutes so expect to spend about 3 to 4 hours to play the game twice and have time to deconstruct the experiences and brainstorm alternatives. And let me say that we do take your opinions seriously. The next time you attend an event you're likely to see that some of the suggestions you and other players made have been incorporated and are ready to test out.
