paint out!

Hi All,

Scouted the Rose Garden today and it's pretty ugly right now. We are changing the venue to the Old Schick Ostolas Farmstead that is out at Hidden Springs. The drive alone is absolutely gorgeous this time of year - wild flowers and sage are in full bloom in the foothills.

The Farmstead lies on about 1.75 acres of land along Dry Creek next to a modern-day organic farm. It includes a 2-story farmhouse with barns and other outbuildings.

The farmhouse is about 140 years old. The first section was in place by 1868, making it one of the oldest intact houses in Ada County. It is on its original foundation and has not been substantially changed since it was built. It's a wonderful place for painting and the Mercantile is a terrific pub/grill to meet afterwards!

The weather report for Saturday is 59 degrees with possible rain, so dress appropriately. Looking forward to seeing you all soon!

Thanks, Robin. I know arranging this event took a lot of your time and energy and gas. Although it was cold, the hardier came out.. we had several new painters who found us on Meetup.com. Welcome, Carol and Sue. Hope you come again.

Well, my doctor has strongly suggested that I stay at home and relax for the rest of the week even tho I feel fine. Then the following week I will have my surgery and I am not sure how long the recovery will be. Hope to see you all later this summer.

This a little scary for me but I'm excited to join your group. I think I have most of what I need.

Okay, I got all the "stuff" a puppy plein air artist should have but, I'm having an out-patient procedure done on Thursday and am optimistic that I will be good by Saturday. See you all there.

What supplies/colors will we need to bring? I want to use acrylic paint. What size canvas do you recommend for this event?

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
