Hi Mandi,

I have 3 kids 12, 9 and 4. I have worked full time, part time and stayed home over the past 12 years. I think part time work is wonderful if you can work out the pay versus childcare costs. Most preschool or at home care comes to about $5 an hour. Childcare centers are more and nannies cost the most(unless you know someone). It would be nice if you got to keep more than half your paycheck after childcare costs. If it works with your schedule I've heard Little Blessings parents's day out at the Methodist church is good- littleblessingspdo.com. They have longer days 9-2:30 and you can choose 2.3 or 5 day program. Home childcare centers can be more flexible with still taking your kid when they are germy(my jobs never gave me enough sick time) but I would find one that has other kids the same age to play with. Whatever you decide, unless you have a very understanding boss, have a ton of back-ups. Last Christmas I had 3 babysitters fall through and my husband(who makes more than me) had to stay home with my kids so I wouldn't lose my job. Hope that helps!

I know this has nothing do to with play groups but was thinking this would be a great forum for some mom advice. I'm looking at going back to work part time and was wondering what advice you moms have for a 13 month old boy for daycare/nanny. Looking at working 3 days a week and not sure if I want to put him in daycare but am worried how expensive it is to have someone else watch him. What do you moms do? Any advice or recommendations would be great.
