6800 Zoo Drive, Kansas City, MO
Okay, we have been talking about going to the zoo forever and a day, and are finally putting it on the calendar (since members have been messing with the editing themselves and confusing everyone)
We will be gathering at the zoo on Saturday, April 27th between 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM at the tables up near the carousel and Sea Lion exhibit. Bring a sack lunch for yourself, or there is a restaurant and vending area there. We will then break up into two groups, either to head towards Africa or do the loop of the Tigers/Asia/Australia.
Info about hours and ticket prices:
$11.50 Adults ages 12 & above; $10.50 Seniors; $8.50 Children ages 3 -11; ages 2 and under are free
Zoological District (residents of Jackson and Clay Counties, MO) admission prices are:
$5 Adults; $4.50 Seniors; $4 Children
If we can get a group of more than 20 to RSVP *AND* attend, we can get a cheaper group rate, but we have to have people commit to show up if we want to achieve this. :)
Bring a few extra bucks for riding the train ($2.50), the tram to Africa ($1.50) and any drinks or food you might want to purchase.
It's also a good idea to wear comfortable walking shoes, socks, and bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, water, a snack (besides lunch), a camera, maybe an umbrella for the sun, a backpack.
We will probably only aim to do 1/2 of the zoo, per group, because it really is a lot of ground to cover.
Please feel free to invite others, as children, friends, and family are all welcome to join us on this outing with a fun, adventurous, friendly bunch!
Have saturday get together at the Kansas City Zoo and check it out and afterwards have a picnic What all do you think about this idea ???
