Hello. My name is Tonia, and I am new to the group. I am writing a memoir. Is anyone else doing a memoir? Any tips on writing about emotional topics? Thanks! Tonia

I Tonia, I am Sheron. I am also writing a memoir, adopting and raising 3 children with fetal alcohol spectrum disorder. I will add chapter 2 to the file for July meeting.

Hello, Sheron. Thank you so much for responding. You certainly have to tell your story raising three children with this disorder. I admire your dedication to your story, and I am looking forward to meeting you. I would love to maybe proofread each other's work. I could use an experienced writer to offer suggestions. I'm having a heck of a time writing this. I didn't think it would be so emotional, so I am finding other things to do....even though it is always on my mind. I've been reading Sue Silverman's book on writing memoirs. She is really great. I am looking forward to meeting everyone. Tonia Derkos

I checked the MLA style for ellipses. It says to use a space before and after the ... I'm not versed in how to approach ellipses in novels though. But, this is what I found out and thought I would share.

Ellipsis (ses is a geometric shape) is often used to pause, unfinished thought, or an awkward silence. I use them in my 10-minute plays to pause a character’s dialogue. See http://en.wikipedia.o... for more info.

Which pieces do I need to have read for tonight? There are so many posted! ROTR Ch4 (Tim), Denise Poem Plymouth Writers (Denise), and Alote Chap 2 Word (Lee)? Is that right?

I should have added that Nancy also posted work for critique, which I'm sure she would appreciate. She was unsure at the last meeting, so wasn't listed as on deck for the May meeting.
