Hi Shane: Brian asked me to help facilitate the meeting as he is on vacation. Di'Arra: You attend a meeting before you can get your work reviewed. There are "Rules of the Road" posted on the home page. We are reviewing stories from Francis, H and Keith for this month. You download the files and read them, then be prepared for a discussion. You also can post your comments on the website, but select "only members of this group" as those who can see the file.

It looks like we'll be reviewing works from H, Keith, Shane, Denise (if she would still like us to) and myself, Nick, for January. I know it's five people and the regular amount is usually four, but if it's a problem then I don't mind stepping down next month.

Hi! I'm new to this meet up. I was wondering how the work shopping works. Do we edit one persons work at a time or multiple peoples?

Di'Arra. We will be discussing three submissions tonight: 1) H's "Footprints" 2) Francis' submission of Chapters 1 and 40 from his novel and 3) my submission "The Invitation". We will go around the meeting giving our thoughts to each person's submission. Ideally the group will spend 15-20 minutes discussing each piece. We do not edit at the meeting so much as have an open discussion about them. Please do not hesitate to offer your thoughts/constructive criticism to any of the posted pieces you have read. People edit each other's work by posting their comments to the site. We can discuss at the meeting the process of posting to the site if you have questions. We will discuss Denise's three poems at the January meeting {unless someone has an objection :)} I would recommend printing out the three pieces cited above and bring them with you, but that is all you have to bring (other than a pen or pencil).

Hello everybody. I'm trying to get the night off work, but my boss hasn't let me know. Regardless, I'm posting my comments on the selections.
Also, seeing that we only had 4 selections and Denise wants to move herself to January, I thought I'd post Chapter 4 of my novel. Read it if you have time and are so inclined. Give me some constructive criticism. If we can't cover it this week or I am unable to get the night off, maybe we can do it next month.
    :-D

Hey, can someone run the meeting tonight? I am not going to make it. Maybe we can move my poems to January (for review). Thanks.

I've been a bugger about "ings" on the end of words, but I didn't have the technical reason, so I looked it up. Check out what is a dangling participle and how you can use the "ing" on a word to make it an adjective or without the "ing" as a verb, e.g., fed the baby (verb), feeding the baby (adjective). As you know, verbs are stronger than adjectives when writing.
