Spanish lesson of the day:
I thought some of you might be interested to learn a bit of Spanish slang.
My Mexican co-worker recently wrote on her Facebook page: "Hoy es el dia en que termina la festejación". I tried to find an English translation for "festejación", and couldn't find it anywhere. So I asked her what it meant, and she told me some uneducated people conjugate verbs incorrectly with "ción" on the end. This is from the verb "festejar" (to celebrate), but when using the noun form it should be "festejo" (a celebration). So, apparently, some Spanish-speakers like to mock the incorrect words to be cute/funny (I know we do the same thing in English!).
