The Political Animals are a book discussion group who meet up in Central London every 8 weeks or so to have a few drinks and talk about our reading in political and moral philosophy.
For previous sessions we've read everything from philosophy of science to critiques of humanism and modern capitalism - we've taken on contemporary thinkers like Tony Judt, JK Galbraith, and John Gray as well as classics like J.S. Mill, Nietzsche, Machiavelli, Marx, Weber, Popper, Hayek and Sartre.
We try to keep the amount of reading manageable - we're all busy people - but the discussion will mostly focus on the book we've been reading for that session, and what we think it gets right or wrong.
All are welcome - especially if you have good suggestions for the reading list! We're not party political - whether or not we're animals is of course up for debate.
