ROY ZIMMERMAN -Thursday, May 15,[masked]:00 pm

Join us here at UUCM for an entertaining evening with nationally renowned Roy Zimmerman, as he travels the country on his Blue Dot tour! Roy sings satirical songs - original songs about class warfare, creationism, same-sex marriage, guns, marijuana, abstinence, Republicans (a lot of songs about Republicans), ignorance, war and greed. There's a decidedly Lefty slant to his lyrics. "We used to have a name for Right Wing satire," he says. "We called it 'cruelty.'" The Los Angeles Times says, "Zimmerman displays a lacerating wit and keen awareness of society's foibles that bring to mind a latter-day Tom Lehrer." Tom Lehrer himself says, "I congratulate Roy Zimmerman on reintroducing literacy to comedy songs. And the rhymes actually rhyme, they don't just 'rhyne.'" Joni Mitchell says, "Roy's lyrics move beyond poetry and achieve perfection." In twelve albums over twenty years and on stages, screens and airwaves across America, Roy has brought the sting of satire to the struggle for Peace and Social Justice. His songs have been heard on HBO and Showtime. He has recorded for Warner/Reprise Records. He's a featured blogger for the Huffington Post.

Please feel free to bring your own beverage (wine or beer) and hors d’oeuvres. For more information check out Roy's web site atwww.royzimmerman.com.

My first PALLS meet-up and it was really fun. Don't always drink that much wine...

I'll be there but likely sitting with the skeptical, humanist, atheist comrades (they're sending 10 or so). I've marked myself as "not going" in order to not mess up your tally.

Just trying to get people prepared to be early than start time so there is a greater likelihood we can sit together. I will be talking about them about the posibility of reservations. Not sure yet.

Oh, OK. I am coming from the southeast and was probably not going to arrive early in the hopes that 494 or 394 calms down. Any idea when rush hour "ends" on those stretches?

FYI: The event time for the meetup is 6:15PM, but the show starts at 7PM. Is there a reason for the difference?

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
