Earth Day Climate Change Salon!

Earth Day Network is promoting "The Face of Climate Change" as the global theme for Earth Day 2013. The goal is to put a real-world face on the remote concept of climate change. Earth Day 2013 poll finds Americans far less eco-conscious than they were in 1971, a year after Earth Day was founded. Only 39 percent now say it's 'very important' to restore the environment.

Two articles for thought if you have time!

Hi Meghan, are we reading anything for the meetup on the 23rd? I'm new to this and was wondering what I could do to prepare :)

I've heard the topic is posted on the Google Groups site but I haven't seen it. Hopefully someone can provide a link for us. :)

Kevin has a good question. I will not be there next week. I will be interviewing Capt. Paul Chappell author of the Peaceful Warrior at the Tech Auditorium at SJCC the next day and introducing him at our gallery exhibit on the "Art of Revolution" of the campus 1960s & 70s peace movement.

Cool, I saw him speak at the Los Altos Library a few weeks ago. I think I heard about it from Kevin.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
