Elasticsearch in the Real World and what's new in v1.0

Special thanks to Beier Cai and HootSuite for making this possible.

Elasticsearch in the real world and what's new in Elasticsearch 1.0

Businesses struggle to keep up with machine and user generated data that is growing non-stop. Elasticsearch is a highly scalable distributed search and analytics engine built to deliver a solution to problems like these.  With over 6 million downloads, there are many interesting use cases.  Steve will dive deep into how customers are solving some of their biggest data challenges with the ELK stack.  Elasticsearch 1.0 has just been released with a slew of new solutions to help solve for even more.  Steve will cover whats new and how you can start putting it to use.

Steve Mayzak heads up the Sales engineering team at Elasticsearch.  He's been in the software industry for over 15 years and has worked as a developer, architect and most recently as a sales engineering leader. Steve loves bringing cutting edge Open Source technology to customers large and small and helping them solve some of their biggest and most interesting challenges.

We'll also have a short presentation from the HootSuite team about their use of Elasticsearch.

• 6:00PM Doors are open, feel free to mingle

• 6:20 Presentations start

• 8:00 Off to a nearby watering hole (Mr. Brownstone?) for a pint, food, and/or breakout discussions

Getting There

By transit there a number of high frequency buses (check Google Maps or the Translink site for your particular case) that will get you there. For the drivers, there is a fair bit of street parking (free and pay) in the area, especially after 6.
