An Evening in Ireland - Sláinte!

Join me on St. Patrick's Day Eve for a fun

Evening in Ireland!

Get your Irish on and make sure

to wear something green!!

The cuisine of Ireland takes its influence from the crops grown and animals farmed in its temperate climate. The introduction of the potato in the second half of the 16th century heavily influenced Ireland's cuisine and is often closely associated with Ireland. Representative Irish dishes are Irish stew, bacon and cabbage, potato, boxty, coddle, and colcannon.

For our Evening in Irland, please join me at my house to prepare and then enjoy a variety of authentic Irish dishes.

After much research, I will put together a menu that is both interesting and manageable. With the event fee, I will shop for ingredients.

Together we will cook various dishes at work stations I will have set up around my house. Depending on your skill and comfort level, you can choose easy or intricate preparations - usually in tandem with another person!

After we have created the meal, we sit and dine! Typically, people will bring wine. In this case, we will probably drink different ales and ciders. As the time nears, I will send out an email with some beverage suggestions as well as the menu.

Join me for this unique event as we continue our culinary journey around the world!

Deliciously,

Alicia

Help me out, Ireland people! I have a bunch of cash for India and I can't exactly remember who gave it to me. This is what I believe: Roxanne, Heather, Debra, Jeff and either David or Stefano. Please confirm (or deny)! :)

Yes, I paid for India. Sorry for delayed response. Was flying to Newark. Boarding flight to Oslo. Weather is awful. Glad I don't live in Jersey right now.

Roxanne that sounds wonderful!! I don't care much for beer so mike and I will look at bringing beer and another drink.

Corinna - I don't like beer either. Stout is a different animal. You could also bring hard cider or some Irish whiskey or of course whatever you would like. Depending on the budget after shopping for food, I might get a bottle of Jameson.

Alicia, the menu sounds wonderful! How about if I bring some Bailey's Irish Creme for after dinner?

Guinness, Harp and Smithwick's is on sale at Target. I was also at World Market and Guinness was on sale (slightly more than at Target), but they didn't have an Irish selection (not that it HAS to be Irish).

I don't know if you can get the recipe, but I had the most wonderful Irish soda bread with Guinness reduction dipping sauce at Raglan Road in Downtown Disney last year. It was delish. Just a suggestion ;) H.

And I found it immediately! Thanks for the suggestion.
