Please note I can only host about 4 other people at my place. If there's more interest we'll need to find another place. Make sure you RSVP so I know who is coming.
Meet online and discuss journal articles with like minded people from Genspace, BioCurious, Counter Culture Labs, and other DIYBio groups.
I sat in on one of their sessions last week. Basically a journal article is selected for the week, people are expected to read the article before the session, then groups and individuals meet online using zoom.us and usually there will be one person who leads the discussion.
Last week the group discussed a paper on Alzheimers regarding a vaccine trial for beta amyloid plaques. Beta amyloid plaques are a hypothesized primary culprit for Alzheimers disease.
The session was recorded and can be viewed on YouTube - feel free to fast forward through the parts with me in it :-D
Here are the details for the next session. If you cant make it in person feel free to join the group online with the link provided.
Next Wednesday we will discuss the following HPV paper:
DNA Damage Repair Genes Controlling Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Episome Levels under Conditions of Stability and Extreme Instability.
Benjamin Lack will lead us through the discussion.
Hope to see you all on zoom @5:30pmPST/8:30pmEST.
