This group is open to anyone interested in sailing and learning to sail. When Sailing, you are not just enjoying nature - you are engaging and harnessing nature, while getting some exercise in the process. Sailing also takes a little thinking and strategy so it makes for a very rewarding past-time.
This group is promoting sailing at little to no cost in order to increase awareness and the number of participants. Since the 1930's, on Portage Lakes, sailing has captured and symbolized the American spirit. This group is trying to break down the financial barriers and misconceptions needed to gain involvement.
We currently have lake access, a facility for training, and a number of Sunfish sailboats.
There often are larger boats that need a small crew to operate efficiently - on Sundays
Additionally, if you own a boat and need crew come aboard.
