Tired of looking for friends at meditation groups where everyone is sitting with their eyes closed and meditating? I've found it's hard to make friends and build sustainable community in that way.  Looking for folks with similar values and similar language? This meetup is about creating community with like-minded Buddhist oriented friends from all traditions.

Relational dharma is a beautiful aspect of deepening into our hearts. This is a place to spend time with folks who are passionate about their path, as well as looking for friends to spend time with.  The possibilities of our various types of events are endless... philosophizing at a tea shop; hiking in nature; relational dharma practice, goofing around; connecting and introducing each other to fun activities; engaging in dialogues about practice and supporting each other along the path. Almost all of our events have a practice element (meditation) to them as well as a less formal opportunity to get to know each other.  No need to identify as a Buddhist - simply having an interest and experience with it is enough.

Folks of all abilities, ethnicities, sexual-orientations, genders, socio-economic backgrounds and ages are welcome.

Oh and... we are connected to a Facebook page too... join us! https://www.facebook.com/groups/portlandbud...

We are always searching for spaces to meet that are affordable.  Quiet coffee shops, restaurants with side rooms, yoga studios, community centers, etc. for about 30ish people.  Feel free to message me with ideas!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
