Jam Session 101 and Practice Workshop

  • Apr 10, 2013 · 7:00 PM
  • Bodhi's Basement Bistro

This workshop introduces participants to the skills necessary to more fully participate in a jam session or impromptu music endeavor.

As a beginner's class, this is also a reasonable environment for experienced musicians to gain some practice-time with secondary, less-familiar instruments in a group setting.

Topics of discussion include the basics of song structure and orchestration, communicating song structure to new musicians, and leading a song in a music session.

Practical instruction in playing instruments, note-taking, lead breaks, and fronting a song will be presented.

The aim of this workshop is to give individuals the skills necessary to confidently and fully participate in open jams and other musical endeavors or events.

Please Note:  There is a fee of $5 per session for this 3-hour workshop.

This is how "We're having a party" should sound at a Jam once we recruit a better singer.

Hi Trent -- technically, as of this time, you are the number one person on the waitlist. The people who cancelled are in the "not attending" portion, and aren't calculated into the attending portion.
We'll see how the afternoon goes ...
