Cedar Mill Library Song Circle: Sing Popular Oldies Pop & Folk Songs!

Dawn A. is hosting a 'Song Circle' for well-known pop and folk songs of the 60's and 70's.   Her description is as follows --

All levels of singers welcome - beginners to choir members! We also welcome guitar, mandolin, banjo, ukulele, bass, dulcimer, flute, harmonica players, etc.

Someone starts by picking a song from our songbook of popular pop/folk/country/camp songs. When your turn around the circle comes, you may lead the song, request that someone else lead the song you’ve picked, or pass. We sing the song together, and then move to the next person in the circle and repeat! We request that instrument players be mindful of drowning out voices with loud instruments.

Our songbook will start with the songs listed below. You are welcome to choose songs not in the songbook - provided they are well known, singable (songs with choruses preferred), state the chords and you bring 25 copies.

Bring your friends, a beverage (non-alcoholic) in a closed container & your enthusiasm! Acoustic instrument players should bring a portable music stand.

It’s all about the joy of singing with friends. Fun, lots of opportunity to sing your heart out to songs you enjoy singing along to. We’re so looking forward to making music with you!

Meet in the upstairs community room. Look for the meetup sign.

6:30pm - arrive, set up chairs & instruments
6:40pm - welcome & sing
7:50pm - put away instruments, stack chairs, say goodnight
8:00pm - close door to room

Note: This event will be held monthly on the 2nd Tuesday.

Thanks for coming and adding your voice, instrument music and presence to the circle. What a terrific group! (21 people - the most we've had so far) I had a great time, and am really looking forward to the next one!
