Music-Development Club

This is the event series for newcomers, beginners, proficient musicians working on secondary instruments, and anybody who needs a little help with the basics of working with other musicians.

This is where you practice in private, so you can eventually head out in public!

Hosted in a private venue with full access to a P.A., mics, drumkit, keyboard, and various percussion instruments, the Music Development Club aims to help you as a musician identify the next skillset you want to hone, and help you decide how best to go about doing just that.

We’ll be taking it slow, using a lot of communication, and working as a group to learn standard, jam-friendly songs and create some great music in a small, focussed group.

Each meeting will consist of some conversation and communication about your personal musical goals, and then will lead in to some focused musical performances of simple, jam-friendly songs. With a focus on education and communication, we’ll be working on getting you up to speed and comfortable with the structure of songs, working with other musicians, orchestrating songs on the fly, and so forth.

We’ll also give you a chance to break into smaller groups, perform solo and duet pieces, and practice new skills with new partners at every workshop.

Meeting every two weeks allows you to work at your own pace, so that at the next workshop you can showcase your project and choose a new task, and get new feedback!

So if you want a focus on education, communication, and personal musical growth, then the Music Development Club workshops might be what you’re looking for!

Please Note:  There is a suggested donation of $5 per session for this series of workshops.

Trying to on RSVP; the site won't let me. I would like to let someone else take my place. I didn't read the description carefully enough the first time.

I manually changed your entry, Deborah. You can always change your RSVP by going to the top right of the list, above the top person's name, and clicking on the big box that says "Change RSVP"

If there's space, I'd also like to jump on the wait list.

Deborah -- I fixed the meetup listing such that the waiting list is once again active. You should be able to sign up without a problem.

I'd like to be on the wait list, please. I'd bring my electric mandolin!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
