August Jam News -- and a plea from Bodhi!

The Summer finally arrived everybody!   (read to the end to see a special request from yours truly – I know that one of you can help me!)

With the summer weather, we’ve got some great opportunities to get together and make some music!

This Saturday, we’ll be hosting our open jam session at Vino Vixens.  This is a great event for new musicians looking to network, and people looking to get their chops back.   The main goal here is for everybody to play with everybody else, and hook into that great sense of community that music can bring.

Every Sunday, we host an open mic where you can show off the stuff you’ve been rehearsing.   The Dublin Pub is a comfortable, welcoming environment where you can showcase your best numbers, and maybe even invite a friend or two up to help flesh out the sound.   Come take a break from the heat in the cozy shade of this great pub.

We’ve had some great private jams this summer, but don’t miss out on your opportunity to host your own event!   Backyard BBW’s, campfire jams, and house-parties are always so much better once the weather turns nice!   If you’re interested in hosting a jam, e-mail me directly at [address removed] and we’ll put the full suite of tools of the meetup group at your disposal.  You can host any type of jam you want –big or small, acoustic or electric, genre-specific or open -- and we’ll help you get the exact experience you’re looking for.

And now for my special plea to all of you ---

I have been trying to find new venues to allow all of us to get together and do some extra types of projects (classes, lessons, workshops, showcases, house concerts, private rehearsal, etc.)   I am also in the midst of attempting to find a new place to live.

So I want to combine those two tasks, and create a live/work situation.  I want to try to find a place which we could all use as a central location – our own clubhouse, as it were, where people could get together and work on their music, practice, give a small showcase concert, or just hang out.

If any of you know a Realtor who may be able to help me find a spot to *rent* as a live/work combination situation, please send their contact information to [address removed].   Knock your brains about and harangue your friends, and help me find that genius Realtor!  Special prizes to the person who helps me get in touch with the Realtor who can help me run this to ground!

Okay, that’s all for now.  I hope everybody has a happy and safe summer!
