Subject: [musicians-349] SteepleGrass in Lewisville Park

Hey Everyone

Steeplegrass, a once a year Bluegrass jam festival held in Chick Rose's memory, is  this Sunday,[masked],  at Lewisville Park just north of Battleground starting at 11:00 AM. (google it)
In spite its name, Steeplegrass does not have anything to do with any religion or even any cult.
Bluegrass is an entirely American genre which was invented by mando player, Bill Monroe and banjoist Earl Scruggs, in 1946.
If you go, you will get to play with of the best Bass players, fiddlers, banjoists, dobroists, mandolin players and guitarists in Western Oregon.
You will see how Bluegrassers have restylized some of the rock songs you play.

Bring a $5.00 donation and a potluck dish to share so you can eat lunch with us. (No one is turned away).

This would be a very good thing for all of you mainline rockers to attend so you can learn a few bluegrass jam songs and also learn Bluegrass jam etiquette and manners.
Bluegrass jammers are very, very polite (except when they are really drunk at 3:00 AM in the morning at the Pickers Jam, Stevenson and Riverfest).

You won't be required to sign up or sign anything. ;)

Paul

Being the scofflaws and rebels we are, Asher and I are heading out for coffee and music-making outside on the patio of Starbucks at 3623 Southeast Powell Boulevard.     Come on out  at 6:00 and make some music with us, drink a coffee or two, and enjoy the weather.   Completely unrehearsed, unplanned, and without permission!   We're just gonna show up and make music!    Come out and join us, and have some fun!
