I saw a movie preview for an evil alien invaders type film in which the evil aliens were interested in us humans because we had such strong emotions. It caught my attention and got me thinking about how our emotions are such a very double edged sword. We distrust people who appear to have no emotions, but also distrust those who are swayed by emotions into making poor choices.

What are the pros and cons of being emotional creatures? What is the right amount of emotion to have? What would emotions feel like if we had no physical bodies to react to them? What does this tell us about the kind of emotions God might have and how they might affect God? The Bible has a lot to say about the emotions of God? Is this all anthropomorphic language?

I love that our List of attendees is fairly split between the genders. And here they say men don't like to talk about their feelings... ;-)

My wife Chris is giving a brunch for her group My Sister's House so looks like not going to be able to make it. Been to busy lately.

My take: Emotions are the motivators. Rationality is one of many tools in the tool box. (Without emotion, there's no desire to do anything with any tool.)

"Let Us make Man in our Image, according to our Likeness" it reads in Genesis 1:26-27. If this is the case and since I am personally a DEEPLY emotional person, then can one even FATHOM the kinds of depth of emotion that the Creator of ALL MANKIND has???????? This is an EXCELLENT topic of discussion and as the song by Leeland goes, "Count Me In"! :)

Emotions are the reality, rationality is the mirage.
