Oregon Guitar Quartet Performance

The Oregon Guitar Quartet will be performing in Hillsboro at the Walters Cultural Arts Center.

The members of the quartet are Bryan Johanson, David Franzen, Jesse McCann and John Mery. Bryan Johanson, professor of music at PSU, composes and arranges of all their music. Three of the four members are PSU faculty, and the fourth is a member of Lewis & Clark faculty. I have seen them before and they are great.

Their performances cross the lines of musical genres: Classical, Baroque, Americana, Traditional Folk Music, Modern Jazz, and music with tropical and Latin influences as well. They have recorded three CD’s, which should be available for sale.

This performance will be showcasing new arrangements of some works by classical composers not yet recorded by the Oregon Guitar Quartet.

If there is an interest, we can meetup after the show. Suggestions are appreciated.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.  Purchase online at

"The guitar, arguably the most popular instrument on the planet, can be found in nearly every global musical genre. The members of the quartet are committed to presenting that broad musical guitar culture through their repertoire and performances."
