Hindemith's virtuoso music for the full orchestra contrasts with Schumann's first orchestral writing, the "Spring" Symphony. The evening concludes with the legendary André Watts performing the Emperor of piano concertos.

I enjoyed Andre Watts' performance -- he played much better than the last time I heard him in Portland. Phil was easy to spot and it was nice meeting some new people.

Kyler and Kathleen, I'm so sorry we didn't get to meet. I placed myself inside the Broadway entrance near the Will Call table at 7:00, wearing my Meetup badge, as indicated in the Meetup announcement. I wish there were a spot inside the Schnitz that could be better defined, but after attending concerts there for 20+ years that's the best place I know to assemble. Would each of you do me a favor and email me privately (phmand "at" Gmail) and let me know what time you arrived and where you looked for me? Perhaps that will help. Thanks so much!

the concert was Fantastic...didn't recognize any of you at the will call so I just went in on my own...hope to meet you all at another concert...perhaps meeting somewhere before or after could be prearranged...I've attended three events now and have not met anyone....

Johna, please see my latest comment (tickets from $21). I have not been able to figure out how a group like ours can sit together, with people RSVPing at different times, having different budgets and seating preferences, etc. Best we can do is meet beforehand as indicated on the Meetup announcement (meet at 7:00 in the Broadway lobby). Often we meet at the same place during intermission, and sometimes after the concert as well so we can go for a bite or drink afterwards.
