I'm a professional jazz pianist/composer, and also a composer of modern classical music. I belong to the Cascadia Composers whose membership includes composers that live in the NW. This group covers the types of music I am most involved in.
There's always something to see/hear.
Welcome to the group Art! After your 8 year hiatus from shooting DSLRs, I hope that the group proves beneficial in brushing up the skills, and re-ignites the passion for photography so that it's not another 8 years until you shoot more photos! Hoping to meet you at a meetup soon. -Drew
Wow Art you found us. We are all new to DSLR. How can know it all about it so our group is going to teach each other by showing in workshops. A person will specialize in animal photo stuff and they teach us the keys. then we do it with him/her and then pair off to a smaller group and practice. Next week you may put on a group session about shooting moving water and the group listens and sees, we then do it all together and then break up into 2 or smaller group. It works. CYA soon. Steve
P.S., If you enjoy hiking, stay posted for a possible meetup/hike in the Gorge this summer :)
Hi Art and Welcome to OMMC! Take a poke around and stay tuned. Registering on OMMP Pay it Forward (PIF) @ freemygreenpdx.com will go a long way to get connected; it's a community of some of the most loving, helpful, and intelligent people on Earth. I hope to meet you and your music soon! ~geo
Christine here from Expand Your He/Art. I will charge for our MeetUp, but not for the preliminary session as we introduce concepts and grow to understand one another. I plan to charge $10. As for the group's appropriateness for musicians, I think the process is quite appropriate. The hypnosis is designed to both light and protect your creative self. Thus, a notepad or sketchpad. The illumination/protective qualities expand your creative self, so they work for all expression. Yes, music.
Thanks, Art. Unfortunately, "moderne" and "music," put together, are, for me, mutually exclusive terms...
Hi Art, Welcome to our Meetup! Glad you found us. Hope to see you at one of our events soon.
It’s nice to meet a fellow Celluloid Lover. My Grandfather loves dixieland jazz and growing up I wrote off Jazz completly because I wasn't a big fan of dixieland or ragtime. Then I found Miles Davis, Albert Ayler, Coltrane, and Naked City and was blown away. Seeing William Parker and Hamid Drake live was an experience I'll never forget. Let me know where I can listen to you're work.
I love Videodrome too which I'm sure you pick up on.
