This is probably the most fun rafting trip you can do in oregon. The river has multiple class 3 drops as well as some great swimming holes and guide antics. By far my favorite trip usually of the year!

It's time for another classic whitewater rafting trip on the Deschutes in Maupin Oregon.

We will be camping both July 17th and 18th at Oasis Campground right in downtown Maupin Oregon. We will be meeting our rafting company in downtown Maupin at there headquarters building at 9:15 on Saturday Morning. The cost for the trip is $87 whether you are camping or not. (considering the normal saturday trip cost is $90 it will be a steal no mater what!)
With the $87 you get the full day rafting trip and two nights of camping along the deschutes river!

The full-day trip meets at 9:45am in the morning and we finish the trip around 3:30-4:00pm. This very full day takes you over many exhilarating rapids, gives you a great opportunity to relax and soak up some sun and plenty chances to jump in the river for a refreshing swim! In the morning we travel through some very exciting rapids and drift through some placid pools. There is plenty of time for swimming, splashing the other boats or just sitting back and taking it all in! We raft about nine miles in the morning and then we stop for a riverside barbecue lunch! After feasting on fresh fruits, vegetables, cookies, salads and some tasty BBQ, we sit back and soak in the days events for a while. At the lunch's end, we then continue on with our adventure.

The afternoon portion of the trip presents us with the most whitewater of the day! With big and famous rapids like Surf City, Oak Springs, White River, Roller Coaster, The Elevators, Sandy's Hole and several others, you will be sure to get your fix. We stop several times to surf the waves and we even stop to swim through a rapid (if you are up for it)! At the end of the trip, we transport you back to the meeting site. From there our guides will escort you up to the photo shop to check out some of the days action (if you desire). Pictures from your trip are available there (not included in the trip price) if you would like some memorabilia to show off when you get home!

Sorry Shawn for any negative vibes you're getting, I had a FANTASTIC trip! That was the first rafting trip I'd ever been on and I can't wait to go again! I have no doubt what a huge undertaking that must have been, trying to organize 96 people! You did an excellent job! Thank you again! I truly appreciated it! As for the camping site-- whatever!! Prima donnas!!

Just as a follow up, I have been getting more details on what happened in my absence on Saturday night and I may owe the locals an apology if they were not involved. If I am wrong about you, accept my apology. Otherwise you know who you are and you know you were way out of line and were damn lucky she didn't drop you where you stood. Thank you again to all of those who were not involved. I truly hope we all get another chance to do it agian under better circumstances.

Great trip we really had a great time. Thank you for all of the great planning. I really had a great time with the crew on my boat and laughed most of the day. My only negative thing would be the "camp" ground, it was a little on the crowded, loud and stinky side. (I was a few camp sites down from the Porta Potties. :(

Absolutely a blast. This was my first meet up as well as my first rafting trip, and I could not have asked for a better time. Thanks
    •  Thanks you to Shaun. The trip was fabulous. Met lot's of great people. I forgot how great it is to be on the river in the summer.
    •  It's a very diverse and accepting group.
    •  This trip was definitely more about the rafting than the camping. Camping in an open field with smelly porta-potties doesn't count as camping, to me. Perhaps the group should have been kept smaller, so we could have shared a more pleasant campsite. The May Clackamas River rafting trip was definitely more fun, but I still had lots of fun on the Deschutes, and after my second whitewater trip organized by Shawn and guided by River Drifters, I have to say they're both great! Thanks!
    •  Wonderful trip, thank you very much for setting this up :)
    •  Good fun, good water, good people, and great guides make for an awesome weekend!

The rating was spectacular but I would suggest skipping the camping. I met cool people, had a great time, but my wife’s privacy was continuously invaded Saturday night by drunken locals. This was not just an annoying comment or two, but an all out attack on the campsite complete with invasion of privacy in the site itself; being ballsy enough to look into my tent while my wife was there alone. (She mentioned to me she was very close to using her tazer.) I was so very livid when I found out about all this that I left first thing Sunday without saying goodbye to those who did make the rest of the trip most memorable. I would encourage those who wish to stay in touch as I don't see a return trip to Maupin in my future. My e-mail is [masked]. Mike
    •  It was a perfect trip: weather, the outfitters and guides were great, I met wonderful people, the place was super, and had such a good time.
    •  Fun and Exciting rafting trip, Well organized meetup, Fantastic people
    •  Very fun! Great way to meet some new people and get connected. Plus we gotva great deal! Cheaper to camp 2 nights and raft than if I would have book day trip alone by myself. Very fun! :)
    •  amazing trip!

I had so much fun on this trip. The rafting was liberating and the scenery, inspiring. Great fun meeting others on this trip, many of whom I found live right in my backyard. I actually dunked myself in the river...repeatedly. Okay, laugh at me, but I normally hate cold water with passion, but the Deschutes was impossible to resist. Oasis Campground was pretty crowded. I could have done without the frat party beer pong guys (not in our group) in the far corner. It took away from the peaceful experience camping could be, but I understand that 90 people grouped together need a big space. My river guide, Erin, was great!
