According to my sources, there's more than one way to get to Three Corner Rock in the Yacolt State Forest in the Washington side. Two of those, via the PCT and the short hike on the Stebbins Creek trail seemed like cheating to me as both are shorter than 5 miles. So we'll do the other one which is much longer and a real hike. The lower portion of this hike borders Stebbins Creek in a dense forested area until we start ascending towards Three Corner Rock. As we get closer, we'll be welcomed with great flower displays and, depending on weather, some nice views of the surrounding volcanoes.

PLEASE NOTE: This hike is LONG so be mindful of your limitations. Hiking distance is a bit over 18 miles RT with an elevation gain of 3800'. This makes this hike Very Difficult under our rating chart. Hike time will be around 10 hours so this is a full day event.

What to bring:
- Good and Comfy hiking shoes or boots
- Hat and sunscreen
- Plenty of water (3 liters at least)
- Food
- trekking poles
- Headlamp
- Gas money for the drivers

We will meet at gateway to carpool from there. Please be prompt as the drive to the trail head will be a bit over an hour.

Eva, we'll arrange carpooling at gateway so we should have plenty of space

I was sideswiped in my car today, so looks like I'll be taking the MAX out to Gateway. Do we have enough cars?

Jessica, half of the hike will be alongside the Stebbins Creek. I'm not sure how close we'll be but roughly half way in, we have to cross it. According to the topo, we'll find a smaller creek further up

claudio, will there be access to water on the trail? I'd like to bring my water filter if there is a chance we will hit a creek. Thanks!

The trailhead was a bit difficult to find, but other than that we had an excellent trip! It was long and hot, but the view at the top was worth every mile!
    •  Fantastic hike with an wildflowers are views of 5 mountains at the end. Claudio did a great job of organizing.
