Dressed to Kill Hike

Celebrate April Fools Day by hiking in style from the Washington Park Zoo to the Pittock Mansion. This hike has a dress code - wear something appropriate for business, a night on the town or the prom. Dress up any way you like (tux, evening gown, clubwear) so long as you're dressed up and it's completely inappropriate for hiking. Complete your outfit with your favorite hiking boots. (Please don't try to hike in heels.)

I'm not setting a limit because the more people we have, the better.

We will a\im to have refreshments at the Pittock Mansion.

There is a restroom at Pittock Mansion so you can freshen up for a big group photo on the porch. Photos will be taken before, after an en route!

I will e-mail out updates the weekend before the hike and post the updates here as well.

This hike is in Forest Park on the Wildwood Trail.

Difficulty: Easy to Moderate. Time: 2 to 2.5 hours.
Distance: About 3 miles round trip
Bring a headlamp or small flashlight - sunset is 7:30.

(This is a real event, not an April Fool's joke. Really.... Really!)

Seriously though... is this a "real" event? Or just something to fark with all the inactive (like me, lately) people lurking about. Either way, good job. :)

un, fun, fun couldn't believe all the great out fits, We have to do this again and Big Reds is my new after hike hang out.
    •  A great group and a beautiful evening! Props to hike leaders Marci, Joe, Erik and Shawn for assisting, to Claudio for style (and having the cutest legs) and to Chris for sheer endurance and stamina. Thank you everybody for making the First Annual Dressed to Kill hike a success.
    •  What a blast! You definitely have to make an annual event of it.
    •  It was great seeing a lot of people show up "properly" dressed for this. A lot of fun

It was a great idea, it worked out really well, the night was pleasantly crisp and you could see most of PDX from Pittock Mansion.

So much fun dressing completely inappropriate for a hike! It's like one of those dreams where you show up at the wrong event in the wrong clothes, except that was the goal! The organizers did an great job putting everything together. Thanks to everyone who made this possible!

       Lets do more like this!!
    •  Great Hike! I'm surprised that people RSVP'd but didn't show up. I'm looking forward to another hike like this!
    •  This hike was a blast! Everyone dressed up, participated & had a good sense of humor.
    •  It was super fun and everyone was a great sport and took the hike title to heart. Thanks planners!

This was my first outing & had a blast. Great group of people. The weather shaped up just in time so we got the full view from Pittock. I appreciate the work people put into organizing it THANK YOU! I didnt see me listed as having attended. There were a couple of Lisa's so I just changed my name to Lisa Marie to distinguish. I hope to join up on these more regular. Super swell time!
    •  I don't know how Jeff and Joe got the weather to cooperate - but they pulled it off - wow - what a nice clear crisp sunny day hike. There was Joe decked out in a tux serving the sparkling cider and the cake in front of the Pittock mansion. Several well behaved dogs were in attendance and a wild aray of interesting outfits. This was so fun - and to think it was even good exercise. Way to go! (All the other hike leaders that came also deserve a round of applause - Claudio, Marci, Mike, Erik...sorry I don't know all of you yet so forgive me if I left out someone.)
    •  It was such an excellent idea and a great turnout !
    •  Hilarious! Lets turn this into an annual thing!
