Lame really… But I’ve been waiting to see if I was up for it as I’m still recovering from this hideous sinus infection. I really need to get out for a walk but need to stay close in to town so I’m not gone long. Join me for a stroll along Springwater Corridor?
We’ll meet at Sellwood Riverfront Park at the bathrooms and head out from there. If you have never been on this walk, it is definitely not a hike. It is a paved walkway along the river from Oaks Park to Portland and back. Flat… pretty unexciting as far as hikes/walks go but it’s a decent six miles, we’ll get to see some nature, the river and hopefully a deer or two.
Since this is an “out and back” walk that you couldn’t get lost on if you tried, I wont be so stringent about the rules with this one. No real point and sweep system. We’ll just generally start together and end together; going 2.5 to 3 mph… that is if anyone shows up since it’s 0900 on a Saturday morning!
-distance: 6 miles
-elevation gain: none
-speed: 2.5-3 mph give or take
-weather: looks like it will be pretty decent: a bit of fog; moderate temp. Link follows:
-Clothing: comfortable walking attire; couple of layers. Wouldn’t hurt to bring a rain coat or umbrealla
-Dogs: I’m a rules type of gal-please do not bring your pup unless you are willing to keep them on their leash for the ENTIRE hike!
-Time: about 2-2.5 hrs hike time
-Water/Snacks: bring ‘em if you want ‘em-we wont be gone long…
