Are you ready to take the ALL TRAILS 80-MILE CHALLENGE? We've designed a series of 13 hikes that cover all 80 miles of trails (actually 80.97 miles) within Forest Park, the largest forested natural area within a city limits in the United States. These hikes will be repeated throughout the year so you will still have a chance to complete the Challenge even if you don't start at the beginning.
We will be hiking Lower Macleay, Macleay, Wildwood, and Tunnel trails with a brief stop at Pittock Mansion's front yard.
This is Portland so expect rain and mud. Wear waterproof or water resistant hiking boots and bring your trekking poles. Wear adjustable layers. Bring lunch.
To reach the trailhead from downtown Portland, drive north on NW 23rd Ave until reaching NW Thurman St. Turn left on Thurman. After five blocks, Thurman intersects with NW 28th Ave. Turn right on 28th Ave and continue for one block to NW Upshur. Turn left on Upshur, and stay on the street (crossing 29th at the stop sign) until Upshur dead ends at the Lower Macleay Park headquarters. There are restrooms available at the trailhead.
Please remember that I'm simply a volunteer inviting others to join in on a hike, I'm not a professional guide and I receive no compensation. I must insist that everybody be responsible for their own safety and well-being.
NO DOGS, please.
