Cascade Locks to Herman Creek Car Shuttle

  • April 27, 2014 · 9:00 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

TOTAL MILES: ~8 miles

ELEVATION GAIN:   900 ft

PACE:   2ish mph

DIFFICULTY RATING:  Moderate

ESTIMATED HIKING TIME:  4 hours

PERMITS:  NW Forest Pass (drivers)

**RSVPS will open at 7:00pm Wednesday**

CARPOOLING: RT mileage is 90 miles (including the car shuttle), give or take; we suggest a mileage donation of 10 cents/mile/person, or $9.00. Exact change makes it easier to divide among our drivers. No one will be turned away for an inability to contribute.  Thanks!

Who’s afraid of hiking in the rain? Not me! We’ll set up a car shuttle between the Bridge of the Gods and Herman Creek, then starting from B.O.G. we’ll hop onto the PCT southbound to see the sights, namely Dry Creek Falls, the Herman Creek Pinnacles, Pacific Crest Falls, and Herman Creek, just to name a few.

Just a nice mellow hike in the rain (hopefully) followed by a burger and a beer.

Many thanks to the absolutely fabulous group of hikers who came and made yesterday an absolute pleasure for yours truly! And lest I forget, thank you, Weather Gods for the sun break while we dined at the Pinnacles :-)

Beautiful day in the rain + sun. Thanks all for the fun conversation. Kudos to Zach (as always) great lead. Reminder: check your gear for Cindy's phone

Anybody end up with a black android Verizon phone? Appreciate you checking your gear. Other than phone loss it was a typically great hike with Zach. Met a lot of nice folks today!

First off, zac is awesome - a true hike leader. I have been on quite a few meetup hikes thus far, and every one has been great. But today everything was firing on all cylinders, despite the rain and wind. Great people, great conversation, and overall just another excellent sunday in the gorge. Hope to see some of you again soon!

Just woke up and saw an email saying a spot opened so I grabbed it. Hopefully it doesn't rain too hard!

Hi Zachary. Since I live in the gorge, where and when can I meet up with you guys tomorrow? The Bridge of the Gods? Just let me know... Thanks!

I am new here but I love to try it, and I like to take Sharon's place if any one take yet.

This looks fun. I usually am free Sundays but this time I work. Keep going with the Sunday hikes!

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
