Linnton Trail / Northern Forest Park Hike

  • Jun 15, 2012 · 7:30 AM
  • This location is shown only to members

**** RSVPs OPEN WEDNESDAY, JUNE 13 @ 8:00PM ****

Just have a few hours for an early, short hike/hill workout ... so I'll be keeping it simple. It's an out-n-back on the Wildwood and Linnton Trail via the Firelane 10 connector.

Total miles: 5
Estimated hiking time: 2hrs
Elevation gain:1000ft w/switchbacks down-n-up on the Linnton Trail
Difficulty rating:Moderate due to elevation
Map: Green Trails 426S Forest Park

NOAA Weather forecast: Low of 50 that morning, reaching 60 by mid-morning, partly sunny.

Dogs: OK on Fixed-Length Leashes Only, please be familiar with the Dog Policy

What to Bring:
- water resistant hiking boots/shoes
- two or three layers of clothing that can be adjusted
- rain jacket
- water and multiple small snacks
- doggie snacks and poop scooping supplies

My hiking style is pretty conservative. I like to hike in small groups, I leave within five minutes of the posted meeting time, and I always carry my ten essentials (even on these Forest Park hikes).

Thank you for your interest in this hike. I have chosen to not activate a waitlist. Please continue to check back for an opening. All attendees must have a confirmed 'Yes' RSVP. If you are not confirmed for my hikes, I am one of the few hike leaders that prefers to not take last minute add-ons at the trailhead.

Driving Directions to Trailhead: From the intersection of NW Germantown Road and NW Skyline Blvd, head northeast on NW Skyline Blvd approx 0.25 mile to NW Newton Road. This is a difficult to find trailhead, go slowly on this last part to find the small gravel road on the right. The trailhead parking area is at the end of the gravel road.
