Rooster Rock, Table Rock and Pechuck look out

Table Rock, which is east of Molallo, offers one of the best views of many of the Cascade peaks. On a clear day we could see Sisters, Washington, Jefferson, Three Finger Jack, Hood, Adams, St.Helens and Rainier(if we see Russia I'll be running for vice president). We will start at the Rooster Rock trail head and take a side trip to Pechuck lock out. This is the last stone lockout left in Oregon.http://www.blm.gov/or/resources/heritage/culpechuck.php From there we return to the main trail and head over to Rooster Rock then continue to Table Rock. Total millage is 9 miles with 2000 feet elevation gain. The pace will be average to brisk. Total driving millage is about 100 miles, if riding please bring 10$ for your drivers. Well behaved dogs are welcome. It could be warm so extra water would be a good thing to bring along with your ten essentials. Please also note we are meeting at Tualatin park and ride, there are two parking lots, we will be in the larger one on the south side of Lower Boones Ferry road.

What a great group of people to hike with. I kinda underestimated (by almost half) the total elevation gain and had no complaints. Nice weather, great views and a really cool stone look out.

Didn't expect a 90 minute drive. Nice views, good test of endurance for bigger hikes.

Hi Pete, wondering why you have closed PSVP having 7(out of 8) on the main list and 24 on the waiting list? It's still almost a day to the event.

This is NOT the Rooster Rock in the gorge... just for clarification. It is over in the Table Rock Wilderness area north east of Molalla OR. There are directions online to this trailhead but it can get a little confusing if you havn't been to the area before.

I live in NE Portland so I would like to meet you at the trailhead. Is the trail head in Rooster Rock State Park?
