Overview of the ride
Meet in Lafayette and then ride n' roll to a slip into Carlton, then back up the Westside Road to Yamhill, then a pretty ride through a small valley (where the WillaKenzie vineyards are) and loop down North Valley Road and Abbey Road (past a Trappist Abbey, hence the road's name) and back to Lafayette. It's rolling but with no major hills. And it's a beautiful piece of Willamette Valley
Meet at 9:30 AM at the corner of Bridge Street and Hwy 99W (also called 3rd St. in Lafayette). There's a Hispanic market (Carniceria Abastos) on the corner. Find your own parking; best place may be on Bridge Street and 2nd Street just south of Hwy 99W; there's a small park, Commons Park and there may be parking around that.
If you are coming from Portland the best way to come is I-5 south and take exit 289, Tualatin-Sherwood Road, and go right at end of ramp. Follow Tualatin-Sherwood Rd. to Hwy 99W, go left (south) and pass through Newberg and Dundee to Lafayette. From Salem take Hwy 221 north to Hwy 153/Lafayette Hwy, and then onto Hwy 154 north. Cross Hwys 223 and 18 and continue to Lafayette. Take a left on 2nd Street and park near Bridge Street.
Any problems w directions that day I'm at[masked]-0105. See you Saturday!
