MST3K at Guardian Games! 903- THE PUMAMAN (21+)

We've NEVER watched PUMAMAN before, so let's kick off our first event at Guardian Games by watching the worst Superman ripoff ever!  You won't believe a shoddily directed, sloppily acted, and poorly scripted superhero can't fly with dignity - this is definitely a towering achievement of riffing, courtesy of Mike, Tom and Crow.

We'll get things started at about 5 PM on Sunday, April 20th - a number of brews will be on tap from the GG folks, but feel free to bring snacks to share if you have the urge.  And maybe get there a little early to chat with your fellow MST fans, and to check out the awesome selection at Guardian Games - if you like board or role-playing games, you will give them all of the money.

Hope to see you then!!

Wonderful venue! I mean I knew it was cool the moment I walked in but when I saw all the nerf weaponry on the second floor... totally awesome! :D

Thank you so much Nathan, Mr Shemp and everyone who made it.

Can't wait for the next event at Guardian Games. :D

PS - Mmm that apple cider was some good stuff... *dizzy*

No problem, Daniel! Thanks for coming out and joining us. Our next event at Guardian should be in June, so keep your eyes peeled. And yes indeed - the Angry Orchard cider was GREAT. :)

I have always enjoyed the company of fellow MST3Kers but it was extra cool to have everyone come to Guardian and let us host ya. Everyone was polite, sweet, and tons of fun was had. We are looking forward to hosting again in two months! Huzzah!

Drugs are like EVERYTHING. An appropriate lesson for 4/20, I think. See you next time, Ryan!

The venue was very nice. It was nice not to have to struggle for parking. The folks were great, the movie awful, and the riffs hysterically funny. Let's do it again soon!

    1 · April 20

    • Mr S.

You got it, Eva! Keep watching your in-box - we're trying to do an event every 2-3 weeks. Enjoy your DVD!!! :)

PUMAMAN movie tonight was awesome!! Who knew Pumas could fly? Laughed so much, good company, I would venture to say a good time was had by all!! And thanks, Anita Bryant, for the dissertation on Drugs!

    • Mr S.

Yep, drugs are like that too! :)

Wow, excellent turnout for this documentary about an ancient Aztec legend - and on EASTER, no less. It was fantastic to see so many new faces, and I hope everybody had a great time! See you at the Lucky Lab on May 5th....

Hey, we were also talking about getting some pizzas, so if you'd like to pitch in on those, reply below!

    March 21

    • Mr S.

Sweet! Thanks, Joelle! I'm sure that if we run out of pizza, we can place an order at Sizzle Pie and have them deliver to us as well. :)

      April 20

    • Raina L.

We're definitely in for Pizza :)

..asap answer needed: is guardian games open ..the bottom levels that allow teens...while the MST3K peeps are upstairs? My son is a gamer and can surely find sonething to do if so...

    1 · April 20

    • Nathan E.

      What he said :)

      April 20

    • Mr S.

J, if he's never been to Guardian Games.... he's going to love it. It's amazing. :)

      April 20

Im bummed that my son and i can finally go and its at a game place but its 21+...why....damn it, why???

    April 19

    • Nathan E.

First off, you and your son rock for being MST3k fans :). As for the 21+, we are hosting the esteemed Portland MST3k meet up group for the first time and it happens to be in our 21+ Upper Level. The upside is that we can have pizza parties, drink, and not watch our language. The downside is that this venue is set up for kids at the moment. That said, the Hollywood Library rocks for earlier in the day all-ages viewings. Have a great week! /movie sign!!!

CASUALLY, just having a conversation about something that was happening around here... and she immediately got that look in her eyes and said, "You are NOT GOING! You're coming to Easter Dinner!" So... just so you know. They're pretty serious about not letting me go. ;)

    March 29

    • Cathy

Mr. Shemp: yes... YES... mwah ha ha... It shall be done. I'm thinking Eegah. :)

      April 1

    • Mr S.

Oh, that's a good call. A really goofy and watchable movie.... :)

So I mentioned this to my sister...

  • Cece

Looking forward to this! Do you know if they have gluten free beers/cider on tap at GG?

    1 · March 21

    • Nathan E.

Hello Cece. Yes we have gluten-free ciders and usually a few beers that are gluten-free as well. Currently, we have an Angry Orchard as well as three other beers on tap. We also have lots of snack food and about 100 or so types of drinks at Guardian. As a long time fan of MST3K and member of this meetup group, I am excited to host a showing at Guardian :)

      1 · March 21

    • Cece

Woo-hoo, thanks Nathan! I've been living this way for about 12 years, and always check before I go just to be safe. Looking forward to this-I can't think of a better way to spend Easter.

  • Bradley J. T.

This is easily one of my favorites. Its funny even without the riffing!

    2 · March 26

  • Cathy

I wish I could do this one, but y'all, it's on EASTER. For some weird reason, my entire family here does not want to go to Guardian Games instead of eating Easter dinner in Oregon City. I can't convince them. ;) Next time!

    March 23

    • Jama

I don't know; maybe you should consider changing families, if the one you have is interfering with your MST viewing. :)

      4 · March 25

    • Cathy

I don't think I'll say that at the Easter dinner table... ;)

      2 · March 25

  • Andrew W.

I'll miss this one, I'm afraid; already have plans for Easter dinner. Enjoy the mighty Aztec powers of Pumaman (such as they are)!

    March 22

    • Mr S.

We will try! Take care, Andrew!!

      March 25

  • Daniel G.

Oh boy the Puma man. If you haven't seen this one yet you are in for at treat.

Fun fact, the Puma man doesn't wear Puma shoes. Missed product placement opportunity if you ask me.

    3 · March 21

    • Mr S.

Yeah, no kidding. I guess they were too busy not working on the "fight" scenes.

      1 · March 21

    • Nicholas G.

Donald Pleasence, the original Dr. Evil, is in it!
