Announcing a new Meetup for The Portland MST3K Meetup Group!

What: Last Minute MST3K in October! 604-ZOMBIE NIGHTMARE & 107-ROBOT MONSTER

When: Saturday, October 23,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Hollywood Branch Library
4040 NE Tillamook St
Portland, OR 97213

What are YOU doing next weekend? Hopefully you've got a few hours free on Saturday afternoon to join your fellow MST3K fans Saturday afternoon at the HOLLYWOOD branch of the Multnomah Library for 2 episodes of our favorite cow-town puppet show! It's Halloween season, so fittingly, we'll be watching two TERRIFYINGLY bad episodes: the season 6 masterpiece ZOMBIE NIGHTMARE, as well as the infamous ROBOT MONSTER from season 1 of the show.

Zombies are all the pop-culture rage right now, but back in the '80s, the whole genre was almost shot in the head when this awful, awful movie was unleashed on the public. Unappealing characters, a pathetic script, and a stunned Adam "Batman" West are what await you in.... the ZOMBIE NIGHTMARE (zombies not included). Mike Nelson, Tom Servo, and Crow are your companions on this hellish journey - can your heart TAKE IT???

Then, it's time to roll back to the 1950s! A cast of literally 7 people! A guy in a gorilla suit wearing a diving helmet! Stock footage! What else can it be but ROBOT MONSTER, the movie that dares to ask "Can a film be made for a budget of $31.74?" (Answer: No.) Join Joel and the 'Bots for this very early episode of MST3K, and prepare yourself for the TERROR of the Million Bubble Machine!

We'll be meeting once again at the HOLLYWOOD branch of the Multnomah Public Library starting with episode 604 at 2 PM, and then watching episode 107 at 4 PM. Like always, please feel free to bring some snacks to share if you'd like - they are much, much appreciated.

We will also be discussing our Upcoming TURKEY DAY festivities, which is scheduled for November 26th, the day after Thanksgiving! We have the room at the Hollywood reserved for the entire day from 10 AM to 6 PM, so we'll be discussing episodes that you'd like to see as well as any other ideas for what we hope will become an Annual Event.

See you next Saturday!
