Announcing a new Meetup for The Portland MST3K Meetup Group!

What: MST3K in April! ATTACK OF THE THE EYE CREATURES / ASSIGNMENT VENEZUELA

When: Saturday, April 24,[masked]:30 PM

Where:
Hollywood Branch Library
4040 NE Tillamook St
Portland, OR 97213
[masked]

...aaaaaand we're back! We don't have enough time for 2 movies due to last minute scheduling for that terrific room at the HOLLYWOOD LIBRARY, but we're making it count with the Joel-era classic episode 418- ATTACK OF THE THE EYE CREATURES, and the "lost" Mike short ASSIGNMENT VENEZUELA!

Teens. The 50s. Terrible monster costumes. A man wearing a sleeping dress. All of these elements come together in the brilliant and haunting ATTACK OF THE THE EYE CREATURES (not a typo). As directed by the Academy Award winning director Larry Buchanan, this is probably the best film ever made with an erroneously repeated word in the main title...... aww, you're not buying this. The movie completely sucks, but the riffing is stellar, really!

Hey, kids... remember when CD-Roms were a really, really big deal? The good folks at Best Brains worked on an MST3K cd-rom with all sorts of original content back in the mid-90s, including a brand new short subject. Sadly, when the company they were working with went out of business, it was never released, and the short was never shown on the air. But of course everything eventually makes it to the Internet, so join us for ASSIGNMENT VENEZUELA, as Mike and the 'Bots take a scenic tour paid for by Venezuelan Business Interests.

Once again, we'll be in that screening room at the HOLLYWOOD LIBRARY (4040 NE Tillamook St, Portland). We kick off at 3:30 and have to vacate by 5:50, so we'll be moving fast. Please bring a snack to share if you're so inclined. Hope to see you there!
