We have an opportunity to see Don Stark's really great system in Rochester, WA. Because of the size of his greenhouse, he has capped the size of the group at 15. So, the first 15 people to RSVP will be the ones to go!
Don Stark is using a variety of different aquaponic methods, as his system is designed as a commercial test facility. He has a 600 gallon system with 90 tilapia. It utilizes DWC, wicking bed, NFT, vertical (2 types), fodder/wheatgrass, and mushrooms. He has 6 different growing methods in practice. Vermiculture and aquatic detrivores are also employed.
It takes approximately 2 hours to travel to Rochester from Portland. Carpooling is highly encouraged! Please make arrangements to carpool with someone if you can. You can leave a comment here to indicate if you are looking for a ride or would like to offer one.
Looking forward to seeing you!
