Let's go to a class at Portland Power Yoga!
I set the meetup time for 7:30pm, because you'll want to get there early. The class fills up fast. This will give you enough time to meet the group outside the entrance promptly at 7:30pm, sign in, pay (and fill out paperwork if you're new to yoga), change, and warm up before class begins! Class starts at 7:45pm, and if you're not in the room at that time, you'll have to catch us next time. So please arrive at 7:30pm SHARP to meet the group.

So what is Yin Yoga?
From Portland Power Yoga's Website: Yin Yoga is a specific approach to yoga that works on a very deep level to awaken the connective tissue of your body, also known as fascia. Studies have shown that it’s not just muscles that need conditioning as we age; connective tissue also needs a “work out” to avoid the hardening and stiffening that takes place in our bodies as we get older. The key to the Yin Yoga experience is 3 fold: take the shape of the pose, stay as still as you can while in the pose, and hold the pose for 4 to 5 minutes. These longer holds in stillness work the deep layers of connective tissue that hardens whenever we engage in vigorous physical activity. Yin Yoga is the perfect complement to our active Power Vinyasa Yoga practice as well as athletic disciplines such as running, skiing, bicycling and all team sports. This class takes place in a warm room and is 1 hour and 15 minutes long. Guaranteed, you will leave feeling grounded and very deeply relaxed.
Where to meet the group: Meet us outside the entrance at 7:30pm. We'll head in to get ready at 7:35pm sharp.
Cost: $16 + the $1 meetup fee
First Time? Yes, you CAN attend if you've never been before. This class is designed for all levels of practice. If this is your first time trying heat yoga, please remember to stay hydrated with plenty of water throughout the day BEFORE you attend class. You'll want to bring water and a towel to the class as well as a change of clothes.
